Terms of service

Last updated: October 27, 2026

1. About These Terms

These Terms of Service govern purchases from and use of Pastest Ltd ("Pastest", "we", "us" or "our").

They apply alongside the relevant product description, our Refund Policy, Privacy Policy and any expressly applicable product-specific terms.

By purchasing a product, you agree to the terms presented to you before purchase.

Pastest's online store is operated using Shopify.

2. Educational Content and Nature of Purchase

Pastest sells educational products primarily comprising pre-existing digital learning content, including question banks, written explanations, videos, audio and associated revision resources.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, when you purchase an individual Pastest educational product, you receive a one-off, fixed-term licence to access and use the content included in that product.

The licence is personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable and is granted for your own educational purposes.

The underlying educational content and intellectual property remain owned by Pastest or its licensors.

Your purchase does not transfer ownership of the content.

Individual products are purchased through a one-off payment and do not automatically renew unless a different arrangement is expressly offered and agreed.

3. Content Delivery and Licence Activation

The educational content included in your purchase principally exists and is available at the time of purchase.

Following successful payment and order acceptance, Pastest will make your purchased content available through your account or relevant application.

Your licence begins when access is activated, normally immediately following purchase.

The selected access period determines how long you may use the purchased content.

Your licence will expire automatically at the end of that period, subject to your contractual and statutory rights.

Pastest will provide the access and functionality described for your purchased product during the applicable access period.

4. Offline Access and Functionality

Certain Pastest products support offline use through our applications.

Where supported, you may download educational content, complete practice questions and use associated learning functionality without a continuous internet connection.

Initial downloads, compatible devices and occasional connectivity may be required for authentication, updates or synchronisation.

Offline features vary by product and platform. The functionality included in each purchase will be described in the relevant product information.

Offline use remains subject to the applicable licence period.

5. Educational Content and Updates

Pastest's educational products principally comprise learning materials created before purchase.

We periodically review and may update those materials to maintain educational quality, accuracy and relevance.

Updates may include corrections, revised explanations, replacement questions or refreshed educational resources.

Where relevant updates are made available during your access period, you may benefit from them without an additional charge.

Unless expressly stated in the product description, your purchase does not include a commitment to deliver a specified quantity of new questions, new educational content, or additional product features during the licence period.

We will not make changes that materially reduce the content or functionality you have purchased without an appropriate contractual or legal basis.

These provisions do not limit your statutory rights concerning content quality, description or fitness for purpose.

6. Access Period and Further Purchases

The access period applicable to each product is displayed before checkout.

Products may be offered with different access periods, including three, six or twelve months.

When the access period ends, your right to use the purchased content expires.

There is no automatic renewal or further payment obligation for one-off products.

If you wish to continue using the content after expiry, you may purchase further access.

Prices and product offerings applicable to any subsequent purchase may differ from those available at the time of your original purchase.

7. Prices, Orders and Payments

Product descriptions, access periods, prices and applicable taxes are displayed before purchase.

Prices may be changed for future purchases but changes will not affect orders already accepted.

Orders are subject to payment authorisation and acceptance.

We may reject or cancel an order for lawful reasons, including genuine pricing errors or suspected fraud. Where payment has been collected and an order cannot be fulfilled, we will provide any refund required by law.

You must provide accurate account and payment information.

8. Cancellations and Refunds

Purchases are subject to our Refund Policy and applicable consumer protection legislation.

For qualifying digital-content purchases, customers ordinarily have a statutory 14-day cancellation period.

Where permitted by law, that statutory cancellation right may be lost when digital supply begins following the customer's express consent, acknowledgement of the resulting loss of cancellation rights, and provision of the required confirmation.

The relevant requirements and consequences will be explained during checkout.

Pastest also offers a separate voluntary 14-day refund policy for eligible products purchased directly from our website.

Our voluntary refund arrangements do not restrict any statutory cancellation, refund or other consumer rights.

9. Customer Rights and Content Quality

Pastest aims to ensure that its educational content meets applicable legal requirements.

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, digital content supplied to UK consumers must be of satisfactory quality, fit for its intended purpose where applicable, and as described.

If content fails to meet these requirements, customers may be entitled to appropriate legal remedies, including repair, replacement or a price reduction.

Where a refund is legally required, it will be processed within the applicable statutory deadline.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts statutory consumer rights.

10. Educational Use and Examination Disclaimer

Pastest's products are designed to support educational development and examination preparation.

We take reasonable care in preparing and reviewing our educational materials.

However, use of Pastest content does not guarantee success in an examination or professional assessment.

Official examination bodies determine their own requirements, assessment formats and eligibility rules.

Pastest resources should be used alongside relevant official guidance and other appropriate learning materials.

This section does not affect statutory requirements relating to digital-content quality or description.

11. Intellectual Property and Acceptable Use

All intellectual property rights in Pastest's content, applications and associated materials remain with Pastest or its licensors.

Customers may use purchased content for their own personal educational purposes during the applicable licence period.

Without permission, you must not:

  • Redistribute, sell or sublicense educational materials.

  • Share account credentials or provide unauthorised access.

  • Systematically copy, extract or reproduce question banks.

  • Commercially exploit Pastest's educational content.

  • Circumvent security measures or interfere with platform operation.

You must not use Pastest products for unlawful purposes.

We may take reasonable and proportionate action to prevent misuse, subject to applicable law.

12. Product Availability and Technical Operation

Pastest takes reasonable steps to provide the content and functionality described in its product information.

Temporary interruptions may arise because of maintenance, technical faults, security incidents or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

We will take reasonable steps to resolve material disruptions.

Nothing in these Terms permits Pastest to avoid its contractual or statutory responsibilities for access, functionality or content quality.

Where a material problem cannot be remedied, customers retain their applicable legal remedies.

13. Institutional and Bespoke Agreements

Institutional licences, bulk purchases, enterprise arrangements, bespoke learning packages and other commercial agreements may include separate obligations or services.

These may include reporting, administrative functions, account management, support or other contractual commitments.

Where separately agreed terms apply, those terms take precedence to the extent of any inconsistency.

14. Pastest Labs and Third-Party Platforms

Certain products or features may be delivered through third-party platforms.

Relevant provider information, applicable product terms and privacy information will be made available where required.

Personal information may be shared with relevant providers where necessary and lawful to deliver the purchased product.

Any third-party provider's responsibilities for personal data will be determined by the relevant arrangements and applicable data protection legislation.

Products with materially different delivery arrangements may have additional terms.

15. Customer Accounts and Security

Customers must take reasonable steps to protect account credentials and prevent unauthorised use.

We may suspend access where reasonably necessary because of serious misuse, unlawful activity or security risks.

Any such action will be proportionate and subject to your statutory rights.

Where reasonably practicable, we will provide notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue.

16. Privacy, Third-Party Links and Feedback

Personal information is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection law.

Our website may contain links to third-party resources governed by their own terms and privacy practices.

Customers submitting reviews or feedback must not provide unlawful, misleading or infringing material.

We may use customer feedback to improve our products, subject to applicable law.

17. Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Nothing excludes or restricts statutory consumer rights or remedies.

Pastest does not guarantee examination success or specific educational outcomes.

To the extent permitted by law, Pastest is not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was entered into or that are unrelated to a breach by Pastest.

18. Changes to Products or Terms

We may update our products, features and Terms from time to time.

Changes to future prices or products do not alter accepted purchases.

The Terms applicable to a purchase will normally be those presented when the order was accepted, except where subsequent changes are agreed or otherwise permitted by law.

We will not use changes to these Terms to remove statutory or contractual rights arising from an existing purchase.

19. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Consumers retain the benefit of any mandatory protections and court rights available under applicable law, including where they are resident elsewhere in the United Kingdom.

If a provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent legally possible.
